Camerounian Lady Buys Nigerian Baby For N1.2M ($7,500)

A 42-year-old Camerounian lady, Mrs Evelyn Atemkeng, has been apprehended by Immigration officers at Calabar port while trying to escape with a 3-day old baby to Cameroun. People will go to the ends of the world just to have a child to call theirs.
According to the Immigration officers, the lady came into Nigeria on Friday by ship and returned back here on Tuesday to board a ship back to her country, but we noticed she was carrying a newborn baby and decided to question her.
She claimed she gave birth to the baby 3 days ago. But when a female officer examined her, she had no sign of just giving birth. So she was arrested with her 70-year old mother who accompanied her to Nigeria. She later confessed that a matron sold the baby to her for N1.2M ($7,500) in Delta State.
