Much dust has been raised on #childnotbride issues- Stella Damasus even made a fiery video supporting #childnotbride. But can we displace the culture and religious beliefs of a people by our own laws and moral standard? I doubt.
Still there should be a workable way of protecting female children given away in marriage. Whatever method adopted has to give consideration to the culture and religion of those who practice child marriage.
On the other hand, Barack Obama and David Cameron are insisting we support gay marriages/gay rights- not based on the Bible, Qur'an or religious beliefs- but based on human rights and civil liberty. Hmm. Which is the more bitter pill- child marriage or gay marriage? Comments please!
