About 80 women turned up for the Ghanaian auditions of Africa’s Next Top Model held in Accra on 20th July, at the M Plaza Hotel.
Headed by Nigerian supermodel Oluchi, the ANTM team will announce the names of the lucky contestants with recording ultimately taking place in South Africa in August.
"We chose South Africa to host the competition because considering the African continent, South Africa is about the only country with a well-structured fashion industry and a very busy one because almost every province holds its own fashion week", said Oluchi explaining why South Africa was chosen to host the reality show.
Africa’s Next Top Model is the African extension of the very popular version of the America’s Next Top Model franchise owned by Tyra Banks.
Auditions have taken place in South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Ghana and Nigeria.
Angola will have auditions on 26th July, with dates expected to be announced soon for Ivory Coast and Tanzania.
